WAM DUBAI, 26th January, 2014 (WAM) -- The Ministry of Finance, MoF, recently received a delegation from Hamline University in Minnesota, U.S.A., at its headquarters in Dubai to review the U.A.E's experience in supporting the coordination of financial policies among federal government entities.

The visiting delegation was briefed about how the Ministry of Finance is structured and the event featured a review of the Government Financial Policy Coordination Council's functions. Throughout the presentation, the delegation learnt about the department's tasks and projects, such as the Government Financial Policy Coordination Council and its technical team, along with the methods used to prepare and consolidate the state's financial reports and the Emirates Gate of GFS reports, in addition to the department's goals for 2014.

Commenting on the visit, Younis Haji Al Khouri, Under-Secretary of the MoF said, "The Ministry of Finance has accomplished much over the past few years and has been able to achieve its vision of being globally recognised for its contribution to the economy and developing sustainable investments within the U.A.E. This is proven by Hamline University's desire to visit the Ministry and learn more about what we do." He added, "The Ministry was very pleased to welcome the visiting delegation and we are ready to receive any academic or research delegation from within the U.A.E. or around the world, in order to share our experience in government financial work and government resource management and development. The Ministry believes in the importance of exchanging knowledge and suggestions to continually improve the quality of our work and enhance our performance." The MoF recently organised visits to the University of Sharjah and the Fujairah Education Zone, which reflects the MoF's belief in the importance of sharing knowledge with schools and educational institutions within the U.A.E..
