UAE mobile hospital provides medical care to Syrian refugees in Jordan

WAM Mafraq, Jordan, 17th Aug. 2012 (WAM) -- On its first day of operation today, the Emirates World Mobile Humanitarian Hospital Friday provide free of charge treatment tens of patients and injured people, mainly children and elderly, in Syrian refugee camps in Jordan.
A team of 70 Emirati-Jordanian doctors, health professionals and technicians, administrators and volunteers are jointly running the mobile clinics.
Ahmed Al Mazrouie, Chairman of UAE Red Crescent Authority (RCA), noted the significant patient turn out underscore the urgent need of Syrian refugees in Jordan to medical care, especially some of them were suffering from chronic diseases.
He thanked the Jordanian authorities for their considerable assistance in operating the hospital on time as scheduled.
UAE Cardiologist Adel Al Shameri, Director of the Hospital, noted most cases screened and treated today were suffering from chronic diseases like diabetes, high blood pressure, and cardiac disorders.
