WAM Dubai, Aug 08th, 2012 (WAM) - Minister of Environment and Water Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahd said that agricultural development constitutes one of the prime strategic dimensions of the overall economic development in the UAE.

The Ministry of Environment and Water has adopted its own strategy which helps to meet the goal of ensuring food security through developing agricultural sector for self reliance, he added.

Bin Fahd made this comment while attending the signing ceremony of a partnership agreement with General Exhibitions Corporation (GEC). During the ceremony held at the Ministry's quarters in Dubai, the forthcoming 'Middle East Eggs Exhibition and Conference' was also announced marking the World Egg Day 2012.

The agreement was signed by Dr. Maryam Al Shanasi, Asistant Undersecretary for Technical Affairs at the Ministry of Environment and Sultan Obeid Bakheet Al Suwaidi, Chairman of the GEC.
