WAM Cairo, Aug 08th, 2012 (WAM) - The UAE embassy in Cairo handed over truckloads of food items to 'Risalah' Association for distributing them among Egyptian families.

The food aid, funded by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation, will suffice for more than 14,000 families to cook Iftar (breakfast) meals during the holy month of Ramadan.

Ifatr meal is taken at the sunset ending the day long fasting from food and drinks as well as from other physical and mental temptations.

Charge d'Affairs at the Embassy Ahmed Al Minhali attended the handover protocol ceremony on behalf of UAE ambassador to Egypt Mohammed Nakheera Al Dhahiri. Other senior officials of the UAE embassy also were present.
