Jerusalem municipality to stop providing services to 90000 Palestinians
2012-07-24 22:11:55
OCCUPIED JERUSALEM: The Israeli municipality of occupied Jerusalem started to refrain from providing basic services to Palestinian neighborhoods in the city located on the other side of the segregation wall, Israeli daily newspaper Haaretz revealed on Tuesday.

The newspaper reported that municipality officials asked the Israeli occupation army to take responsibility of handling civilian services pertaining to Jerusalemites east of the separation fence.

Around 90,000 Palestinian Jerusalemites live in a number of neighborhoods on the other side of the segregation wall, including the Shoafat refugee camp, Ras Khamis and Dahiyat As-Salam, which lack regular municipal services.

The Municipality officials held a meeting with representatives of the Israeli army and asked them to provide services to city residents who live on the other side of the wall.
