WAM Dubai, Jul 18th, 2012 (WAM) - Minister of Education Humaid Mohamed Obaid Al Qattami said that the last academic year ended with the same exceptional and impressive impulse which it had started with.

The members of the teaching, administrative and technical staff and other workers also received generous support from the country's prudent leadership in the form of promotions, financial incentives and bonuses; noted the minister.

The pupils who proved their excellence in studies were also given generous gifts and grants by the leadership and all this support reflected the keenness of the country in promoting education; he added.

The minister made these remarks while attending the ceremony held on Tuesday to honour the top students who had achieved excellent results in the higher secondary examinations in the 2011/2012 academic year.

Al Qatami also handed over to the toppers, the generous gifts of UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

The grand ceremony, organised by the Ministry of Education, was attended by Jordanian Minister of Education Faiz Al Saudi, senior officials at the ministry, directors of various education districts across the UAE, students and their parents.
