WAM Abu Dhabi, July 15th, 2012 (WAM) -- The National Council for Tourism and Antiquities and the National Statistics Centre discussed aspects of cooperation and coordination to build a unified database of tourism at the state level.

This came during a coordination and consultative meeting held at the National Council for Tourism's headquarters here in Abu Dhabi.

The database aims to develop joint statistical work in partnership with all tourism authorities and departments to identify the obstacles facing this sector and what standardized procedures it requires.

It also aims to unite efforts with the aim of promoting quality and improve performance in the tourism sector by providing the decision makers with numbers and statistics enabling them to identify a clear vision and specific goals.
