WAM DUBAI, 14th July 2012 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, today received at Zabeel Palace ministers of education and heads of delegations participating at the 12th Asia Pacific Conference on Giftedness which started here today.

Humaid Mohamed Obaid Al Qattami, UAE Minister of Education, and members of the conference's organising committee attended the meeting. Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Award for the Distinguished Academic Performance is hosting event from July 14th to July 18th 2012.

Sheikh Hamdan said he was grateful for the cooperation and support the Award receives from sisterly and friendly countries.

The ministers highlighted Sheikh Hamdan's role in advancing education through the Award, which they said, had promoted the culture of excellence and changed the traditional concepts on education.

During the meeting, the guests got insight into the UAE national plan for sponsoring gifted students.
