WAM Ajman, Jul 09th, 2012 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, was briefed today on programs and activities being carried out by UAE Genetic Diseases Association (UAEGDA) across the UAE, specially Ajman.
During an audience, Sheikh Ammar heard an overview by Dr. Maryam Matar, Executive Director of UAEGDA, on the most remarkable achievements the Association made over the elapsed five years and its future preventive programs including Manal Project for prevention of Folic Acid Deficiency among women and secondary school and university students. The aim of the national Manal Campaign" is to reduce the spread and impact of blood disorders genetically prevailing within the country.
It urges women to take internationally accredited doses that contains Folic Acid, to prevent genetic congenital malformation.
Dr. Matar expressed her gratitude for the trust and support lent by Sheikh Ammar whom she lauded as one of staunch supporters to the Association since 2006.
For his part, Sheikh Ammar praised the Association's high quality programs and activities.
