RCA continues providing assistance among Yemenis

WAM Sana'a July 4th, 2012 (WAM) -- The UAE Red Crescent Authority has intensified its relief efforts and provided more assistance to the affectees in a number of Yemeni governorates.

RCA's delegation continued touring various areas in Yemen to dispatch necessary relief items among the families who are facing dire humanitarian conditions in the wake of the events witnessed in the country recently.

The team provided in large amounts varieties of food stuff to affectees in Amran governorate, some 90 Km north of Sana'a.

The RCA is undertaking relief work in coordination with its local office in Yemen and aimed at expanding the number of beneficiaries of 'Sanadhom' in line with the implementation of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, H.H. Gen. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces and the follow up of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority to support to support the humanitarian conditions in Yemen.

Suhail Rashid al Qadi, head of the RCA's delegation in Yemen told "WAM" that: "'Today's aid targeted 1000 Families in Amran city and the next phase relief work will be carried out in Hajjah governorate in north western Yemen." He informed that all relief items were bought from the local markets to revive the local economy and distributed among the people in-person. "We are also checking their future needs," he added.
