DM joins Land Department's drive to collect old household items

WAM Dubai, July 4th, 2012 (WAM) -- As part of its strategic vision regarding humanitarian activities, Dubai Municipality has joined Land Department in its campaign to collect old household items to be distributed later for the needy.

Land department is organizing this campaign for the third consecutive year and with the co operation of various government bodies in Dubai.

Campaign targets mainly government employees has been titled as "Give new life to your old items".

Collection items include old dress, electronic gadgets, kitchen items, health equipments, medicine and other undamaged items kept in households without use.

Arrangements are made to receive the items in working hours at DM headquarters at Deira and at AlTwar Center.

"The drive is launched to refresh humanitarian mind set of our employees and draw their attention to the environmental side of the issue" said Fahima Ali Saber, Head of Public Relations Unit, Dubai Municipality.

Distribution of collected items to the needy is carried out by Dubai Charity Association. Vehicles of the Association will collect the items on a daily basis from collection centres.
