Zayed Giving initiative's team conducts first two Endoscopic heart surgeries in Egypt

WAM Cairo, July 2nd, 2012 (WAM) -- The Zayed Giving initiative's team yesterday conducted the first two endoscopic heart surgeries in the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in Egypt.
Meanwhile, 15 patients were examined in the outpatient clinics of the hospital.
In implementation of the directives of H.H. Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Chairwoman of General Women's Union, and of the Family Development Foundation and Chairwoman of Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, the Zayed Giving initiative's team who is visiting the Arab Republic of Egypt have taken up many cases and provided treatment to many patients in the Sheikh Zayed Hospital in line with Sheikha Fatima's Campaign to "Cure One Million Children and Elderly People" and in the context of the humanitarian giving campaign with the participation of Emirati, Egyptian and French medical team.
The Emirati cardiac surgeon, the chairman of the Zayed Giving Initiative and head of the Emirati, Egyptian and French medical team Dr. Adel Al Shamari said that the surgical operations came under an agreement to perform surgeries on about one thousand patients in the coming period as well as equipment of Zayed hospital with the latest machinery and medical appliances with the follow up and directives of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region and Chairman of the UAE Red Crescent Authority.
For his part, the French heart surgeon Professor Oliver Jackdan head of the Center Heart Hospital in Lyon university, member of Zayed Giving initiative's team said that Zayed Giving Initiative provides the best equipment and medical devices to cure the needy people.
He said that a group of senior Egyptians surgeons who were part of the medical team participated in conducting the valves transplant operations yesterday at the Sheikh Zayed Hospital here in Egypt.
The French Surgeon also noted that the Egyptian surgeons are having high surgical skills and participated actively in loads of humanitarian missions of the giving campaign in the UAE and other countries of the world.
