Riyadh, 30 June 2012 (WAM) - GCC Secretary General Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani has praised the role played by the UAE in the "historic achievement" of the reconciliation declaration that paves the way for talks and cooperation among Somali parties.

In a statement made to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), Al Zayani said the Dubai Declaration for Somali reconciliation was yet another evidence of UAE'skeenness to regain security, stability and peace in Somalia and to accelerate the pace of development there.

"The fellow GCC countries are offering their blessings to the efforts made by the UAE to narrow differences among different parties in Somalia," he added.
