Nahyan attends AAU's graduation ceremonyJun 30, 2012 - 11:35 - WAM ABU DHABI: Minister of higher education and scientific research Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan attended a graduation ceremony for two new batches of male and female students of Al Ain University of Science and Technology (AAU) last Wednesday in Abu Dhabi.
The 520 students completed studies at the colleges of engineering, information technology, pharmacy, law, education and business administration/ In a speech at the ceremony, Sheikh Nahyan reiterated the UAE's interest in backing education and nurturing innovation and creative competition based on the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Highness General Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
He urged the new graduates to live up to high expectations and to engage in continuous learning to serve their nation.
In attendance at the ceremony were the minister of education Humaid Mohammed Al-Qattami, the director general of the Abu Dhabi Education Council Dr. Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, sheikhs, representatives of governmental departments, AAU's officials and the families of the graduates.
