WAM DUBAI: A total of AED 4.2 million in aid for poor families in the emirate of Ras Al-Khaimah was provided by the Dar Al Ber Society's branch during the current year.

1500 needy families benefited from the aid which were distributed in the form of monthly financial amounts, school fees, surgery fees, rents, utility bills and others, according to the director of the Charity's branch in Ras Al-Khaimah Ali Abdullah Saleh Al-Shehhi.

One donor alone contributed 4 tonnes of palm dates for the charity's programs ahead of Ramadan, he noted, adding that 12 houses were also furnished by donations for the charity.
