WAM Abu Dhabi, June 24th, 2012 (WAM)-- In line with the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority's (GCAA) continuous efforts to enhance coordination and exchange of expertise in the aviation sector within the GCC region, Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of GCAA, received a delegation from Sultanate of Oman Civil Aviation Authority, headed by Eng. Salem bin Nasser Bin Saeed Al Oufi, CEO of Omani Civil Aviation Authority.

The reception took place last week at the Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre in Abu Dhabi. Ahmed Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Air Navigation Services, also welcomed the Omani Delegation along with Saeed Al Suwaidi, Office Manager of Director General's office.

The Omani delegation was informed about the functions, regulations, best practices of the GCAA and the various agreements signed with aviation authorities in the region and the world. A presentation on the successful Total Transformation project of the GCAA was given as well.

During the visit, the Omani delegation was introduced to different facilities of Sheikh Zayed Air Navigation Centre and explored the technical services provided by relying on the latest technologies and equipment in the field of air navigation and air traffic control. Ahmed Al Jallaf, Executive Director of Air Navigation Services, undertook the demonstration of the latest technical programs of traffic management and air traffic control which were incorporated at the center.

Al Suwaidi noted the need to strengthen cooperation between civil aviation authorities within the GCC countries, and the importance of exchange of experience between them. He called brotherly countries to promote such visits between the aviation authorities enhance sharing of information and knowledge in this field.
