WAM Aden, June 24th, 2012 (WAM) -- In pursuance of the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan's AED 500 million food aid for Yemeni people, a delegation of the Khalifa bin Zayed Humanitarian Foundation (KZHF) has reached in Aden from Sanaa to distribute food parcels among displaced people from the provinces of Abyan and Lahij.

Over 30000 Yemeni families will benefit from the humanitarian aid in the current phase as each basket contains food items sufficient for 5 to 8 persons for next three months.

The President had assigned KZHF to purchase these supplies from the local markets in Yemen in order to activate the Yemeni economy and revive its domestic market.

The President also gave directives to distribute the food supplies directly among the Yemeni society by setting up outlets in the different regions of Yemen to ensure they arrive the largest number of people.
