WAM Abu Dhabi, Jun 23rd, 2012 (WAM)--UAE Ambassador to the Netherlands Ali Thani Al Suwaidi has died. The prayer on the deceased's body will be held on Monday afternoon at Al Sahaba Mosque. His body will be laid to rest at the Sharjah Cemetery.

The late Al Suwaidi graduated from Faculty of Law/ University of Cairo, and joined the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1977, where he worked at the Legal Department. Then he joined the UAE Permanent representation in Geneva, and later transferred to New York, where he joined the UAE Permanent representation. He also worked at the UAE Embassy in Brussels. He was appointed as UAE Ambassador to South Africa in 1995 and the UAE Ambassador to Netherlands in 2003 till his death.
