TRA, Social Affairs Min. sign MoU
2012-06-18 20:25:30
WAM DUBAI: The Ministry of Social Affairs and the Computer Emergency Response Team (aeCERT), the cyberspace taskforce of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cooperation on information security.

The MoU was signed by Abdullah Al-Hai, the acting undersecretary of the ministry of social affairs and Mohammed Nasser Al Ghanim, Director General of TRA in Dubai.

The agreement specifies the scope of cooperation and collaboration between the two federal bodies on information security and alerting other bodies on cyberspace attacks, threats and hacking attempts as well as on providing response and support in the face of such incidents.

The Ministry works with almost all members of the community and possesses a large detailed online database on a large number of members, which represents a big challenge in efforts to secure the confidentiality of these information," Al Hai commented.

"TRA puts its capabilities at the disposal of the Ministry of Social Affairs. TRA seeks to expand its work by adding more federal bodies through new cooperation agreements," Al Ghanim said.
