WAM AL AIN: The UAE University (UAEU) and the Japan Cooperation Center, Petroleum (JCCP) on Monday signed an agreement on fuel cell applications and renewable energy technology.

The agreement was signed by Morihiro Yoshida, the Managing Director of JCCP and Dr. Abdulla Al Khanbashi, the UAEU Vice Chancellor.

The 3-year agreement provides for joint research by the both sides to test and operate fuel cell systems and study the effects of high temperature and sand storms and dry conditions on them in order to come up with more efficient designs.

The modified systems would be used to generate renewable energy to power commercial facilities such as safari camps.
