WAM Abu Dhabi, Jun 07th, 2012 (WAM)--Chief of Staff of the UAE Armed Forces Staff Lt. General Hamad Mohammed Thani Al Rumaithi met today in the Republic of Korea, South Korean Minister of Defense Kim Kwan-Jin, within the framework of his visit to South Korea.

The two sides discussed during the meeting the existing bilateral ties between the two countries, focusing on the defence and military ties and ways to boost them in the best interest of the two countries. They also tackled a number of issues of mutual interest.

Lt. General Al Rumaithi thanked the Korean Defence minister about the hospitality exhibited by the Korean sides to the UAE's visiting delegation, hailing the cooperation ties between the UAE and South Korea.

The UAE's military official also met the South Korea's Chief of Joint Staff General Jeong Sung-Jo. The two sides discussed the ways to enhance the joint military cooperation in the framework of bilateral relations between the UAE and the Republic of Korea.
