Hamdan inspects villa development in Sila'a

WAM Sila'a (Western Region),7th June 2012 (WAM) -- H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Ruler's Representative in the Western Region (Al Gharbia), toured today a number of housing projects at Sila'a which are being constructed by Abu Dhabi developer Sorouh under the supervision of Abu Dhabi Urban Planning Council (UPC).
Sheikh Hamdan was accompanied during the tour by Majed Ali Al Mansouri?, Chairman of the Department of Municipal Affairs, Sultan bin Khalifa Al Rumaithi, acting Undersecretary of the Ruler's Court in the Western Region, Musbah Mubarak Al Murar, acting Director General of Western Region Municipality, Mubarak Matar al Humairi, Chairman of Sorouh, and a number of top local officials.
Sheikh Hamdan viewed a model of one of 448 villas Sorouh will develop in Sila'a, along the coastline of the Western Region at a total cost of AED 1.3 billion as part of the Emirati Family Housing Programme. The design incorporates and features the UAE's rich civilisation and its deep historic bonds with old and present Arab and Islamic culture.
He also viewed the exterior design of the villas and infrastructure of the project which is being built at par with international best specifications that cater to the basic requirements of modern, decent life of the Emirati family.
Terming the housing sector as one of the key sectors, Sheikh Hamdan said the sector stands testimony to the UAE's economic and social prosperity the UAE citizens are enjoying under the special care of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and close follow up of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces.
The Emirati family housing being built across the Emirate illustrates Abu Dhabi Government's commitment to providing world-class housing communities for Nationals.
The first phase of the community villas is projected to be delivered by the end of the current year.
Spanning 212,352 square metres along the Western Region coastline, Sila'a development will be a place where families can enjoy community living.
This 448 villa development will be a safe and tranquil environment with modern amenities, making Sila'a ideal for family living.
The development will include a mosque, a school, a women's centre and a wide range of retail outlets, all of which are designed according to the Estidama guidelines of the UPC and Plan Al Gharbia 2030.
Sila'a will be a place that honours the area's seafaring heritage, and will provide the community with an anchor for growth and development, while maintaining respect for its traditional Emirati past.
