ABU DHABI: Ways to promoted parliamentary relations between Germany and the UAE on Wednesday were discussed by members of the Federal National Council (FNC) and a delegation from Germany's Bundestag, the national parliament of the Federal Republic of Germany, led by Foreign Minister Guido Westerwelle.

At the meeting, FNC member Rashid Mohammed Al-Shuraiqi gave a presentation on the UAE's politics and the vision of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to empower FNC and expand the participation of women. he noted that half of FNC members were directly elected by a college of councilors between 2006-2011.

FNC enjoys full support from the tip leadership of the UAE and has been taking part in the process of development through its political, legislative and regulatory responsibilities," Al-Shuraiqi said.
