Shurooq participates in NYU International Hospitality Investment Industry ConferenceJun 5, 2012 - 01:19 - WAM Sharjah, June 5th, 2012 (WAM) -- Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) will provide the highest levels of hotel and luxury services through its new projects, reflecting a new level of experience in the hospitality sector in both local and regional markets," Marwan bin Jassim Al Sarkal, Shurooq CEO said.
He made the statement on the sidelines of the Authority's participation in the 34th Annual New York University International Hospitality Industry Investment Conference currently underway in New York, USA.
Led by Al Sarkal, Shurooq's delegation includes Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Shurooq Chief Operation Officer, and Elie Armaly, Director of Business Development at Shurooq.
Al Sarkal commented, "The tourism industry has a promising future," going on to say that Sharjah has unique tourist elements and attractions making it a globally competitive player in attracting tourists and investors in the tourism sector.
Highlighting the importance of participation in this conference, he further stated: "Shurooq's participation comes in line with its highly ambitious strategy to promote Sharjah as a leading investment destination in the region and highlight the Emirate's tourist elements and attractions through its presence at major international business events and platforms." He added that the conference offers an important platform to meet with more than 600 decision makers, top industry leaders, business executives and professionals, as well as with businessmen and investors interested in the hospitality sector from all around the world. He also underlined the importance of opening up new channels of communication with senior officials and businessmen.
The Authority's delegation gave a presentation highlighting the Kalba Eco-tourismproject currently being implemented by Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq) which seeks to lure investors to undertake the construction of hotels and chalets, as well as the Al Majaz Waterfront, Heart of Sharjah project, and The Chedi Khofakkan Resort, among others on the UAE's tourism map.
