Emirates University tops winners list of Khalifa Award for EducationMay 31, 2012 - 08:21 - WAM Al Ain May 31th, 2012 (WAM)-- United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), topped the country's universities in winning the fifth Khalifa Award for Education.
Dr. Yasser Al Saeed Hawas won the award for Distinguished University Professor in the Field of Teaching at the Arab world level, Mohammed Jaber Qassim of Colleges of Education received the award of Educational Research within the UAE and the Arab world award, while Mohammed Sameer Ali got the award of Projects and Innovative Educational Programs within the UAE and the Arab world.
Dr. Abdulla Al Khanbashi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, stressed the importance of the academic role in serving education in both parts: pre-university and post university education, and encouraging researches for more initiatives to serve societal issues.
The Khalifa Award for Education is an International Education Award founded by the United Arab Emirates. The Award is intended to enhance the educational sector within the UAE, and throughout the Arab world at large, by honouring the distinguished efforts of educators in the various fields of teaching and specialised education. The Award aims to promote the educational field in the UAE and the Arab world through encouraging and motivating creative and outstanding individuals working in the field.
