Abu Dhabi to host Conference on Arab Oil Industry Development on Monday

WAM Abu Dhabi, May 30th, 2012 (WAM)--Abu Dhabi will host on Monday the conference on " The development of production capacities of oil in the Arab countries and the current and future role in meeting the global energy demand." Organised by the Organisation of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries "OAPEC", the two-day conference will be held under the auspices of Mohammed bin Dhaen Al-Hamli, Minister of Energy. The gathering will address a number of points regarding the current oil production capacity, existing and future oil development projects in the Arab States and their role in meeting the global demand for oil, and the role of national and international companies in this area.

The Secretariat of OAPEC will present a paper on the reality of hydrocarbon reserves and production in the Arab countries.

The conference will also tackle issues pertaining to using of enhanced oil recovery technologies, being important tools for the development of heavy oil reserves and non-traditional sources in the Arab region. It will discuss the most important environmental challenges facing the development of production capacities in the Arab countries.

The event brings together specialists from a number of Member States of the "OAPEC", Arab and foreign experts of the petroleum industry.
