WAM Abu Dhabi, 23rd May 2012 (WAM) -- The Executive Committee gave today its nod for Al-Ruwais Concept Masterplan in the Western Region. The 20 year plan was designed to accommodate massive developments and expansions in heavy industries and support services. The city population is forecast to rise to 115,000 by 2030.

The meeting, chaired by Mohammed Al Bowardi, member of Executive Council of Abu Dhabi, also approved the first phase of redesign of the roadside bus shelters project in Abu Dhabi city so as to ensure smooth operation of coaches and easy flow of vehicular traffic.

The meeting also initially approved recommendations issued by the ''Doing Business 2012'' report so as to ensure ease of doing business and promote Abu Dhabi's position at the world investment map. The report urges Abu Dhabi to do away with certain procedures, refine legislations to become business-friendly and streamline transaction formalities.
