UAE PAP inspects work progress in Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway in South Waziristan

WAM Wana, (South Waziristan), May 23rd, 2012 (WAM) -- Abdullah Khalifa Al Ghafli, Director of the UAE Project to Assist Pakistan (UAE PAP) has inspected the Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Highway in South Waziristan in the framework of continuous monitoring of the implementation of directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and his kind initiatives to help the friendly Pakistani people.

Al Ghafli was briefed on the pace of the project which has been completed 35 per cent.

In a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), he said that upon the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE PAP's Management announced this January, the construction of a 50-km long Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al-Nahyan highway which will connect Wana and Angoor Ada.

The project is implemented and funded by the Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan Humanitarian Foundation and to be completed in the beginning of 2013.

Al Ghafli said that US$ 38 million has been allocated for this purpose under president Khalifa directives and his interest in the development and modernization of infrastructure in remote and poor areas in Pakistan and is considered as one of the largest and most important development projects implemented in that country.
