US Naval Academy delegation visits National Center for Documentation and Research

WAM Abu Dhabi, May 22nd, 2012 (WAM) -- The National Center for Documentation and Research received a delegation from the US Naval Academy based in Annapolis, Indiana.
The visit aimed at learning more about UAE's history, origins, development and prosperity as well as, the Center's activities, achievements, important archival holdings and its leading role in documenting and preserving the Nations memory.
A talk on the emergence of the Center as the National Archives of the United Arab Emirates was given. The talk highlighted the Center's scientific research and community service activities, its role in the organization and collection important documents from local and federal organizations and departments as well as other relevant international institutions. The delegation learned about the endeavors to preserve and document the oral history of the UAE by the Center before they toured the Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Museum and watched a 3D film about the United Arab Emirates.
It is worth mentioning that a number of U.S. Naval Academy students had already visited the Center in the past year.
