Labour minister meets ambassadors of Jordan, Cyprus
WAM Abu Dhabi, May 21th, 2012 (WAM) -- Minister of Labour Saqar Ghobash received Monday in Abu Dhabi, Jordanian Ambassador Naif Fantoul Zaidan and discussed with him bilateral relations between UAE and Jordan.
At the meeting held at the Ministry headquarters, Ghobash stressed UAE's keenness on protecting the rights of temporary contractual labor from all countries including those from Jordan.
The Ambassador said that the UAE continues to be attractive to the Jordanian labour because of the privileges and incentives it offers, especially for professionals and skilled workers as protected by the country's legislation.
Both sides emphasised the need for enhancing joint efforts for the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two countries in 2006.
Ghobash also met with the Ambassador of Cyprus in Abu Dhabi and reviewed ways to promote friendly relations between the two countries.
The Minister reiterated the continued application of policies and legislation that will provide incentives to the labor market to ensure the interests of employers and as well as the rights of workers in the private sector.
The Ambassador praised the policy governing the labor market in the country and said that he will encourage investment from Cyprus WAM/AB
