UAE's non-oil trade in 2011 reaches AED 927.7 bln (1st ADD)

"Ten countries dominate around 61% of the total value of the imports of UAE. The total value of UAE imports was about AED 369.6 bln in 2011. India comes on the top of these countries with an import volume of AED 105 bln, followed by China with AED 55 bln, USA with AED 52.3 bln, Germany with AED 30.7 bln and Japan with AED 30 bln," FCA said in the press release.
"Ten countries receive around 69% of the UAE's exports which totalled AED 78.3 bln. India came in the first place, followed by Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
The total value of non oil trade between the UAE and GCC amounted to AED 63.2 bln in 2011, with AED 27.8 bln worth of imports, AED 13.2 bln worth of exports and AED 22.1 bln of re-exports.
Saudi Arabia, in terms of non-oil trade with the UEA, topped the list of GCC States by AED 26.7 bln, followed by Kuwait AED 11.3 bln, Oman AED 8.8 bln, Bahrain AED 8.7 bln and Qatar with AEA 7.7 bln.
"The UAE's total foreign trade with Arab countries in terms of value amounted to AED 116.4 bln in 2011 with AED 54.6 bln worth of imports, AED 21.9 bln worth of exports and AED 40 bln of re-exports." Saudi Arabia topped the list of Arab states in terms of non-oil trade with the UAE in 2011, followed by Sudan, Iraq, Oman, Morocco, Kuwait , Bahrain, Libya, Egypt, Qatar, Lebanon, Jordan, Yemen, Algeria, Syria, Mauritania, Somalia, Tunisia, Palestine, Djibouti and Comoros.
The preliminary statistical data of 2011 showed that gold ranked first among imports with a value of AED 99.9 bln, followed by diamond with AED 59.3 bln, cars with AED 28 bln, ornaments and jewelry with AED 23.3 bln, and telephone sets with AED 7.3 bln, tractors accessories, private cars, coaches and vans with AED 7.2 bln.
Gold, according to FCA, also came first among exports in 2011 with AED 62 bln, followed by fire-fighting, guiding equipment and ships with AED 4.3 bln, petroleum oils and other derivatives with AED 3.8 bln, un-fabricated aluminum with AED 2.1 bln and ornaments and jewelry with AED 2 bln.
On the level of re-exports, diamond came first with a total value of AED 62.8 bln, followed by ornaments and jewelry and related parts AED 18 bln, cars AED 12.7 bln and telephones sets AED 10.4 bln.
The total trade volume of UAE free zones and markets in 2011 amounted to AED 15.8 bln with AED 7.6 bln worth of imports, AED 2.8 bln worth of exports and AED 40 bln of re-exports.
