WAM Abu Dhabi, May 20th, 2012 (WAM)--Engineer Mohammed Saleh Badri, Acting Director General of Emirates Authority for Standardisation and Metrology (ESMA) has announced that the Authority had prepared a UAE Unified Technical Regulations for measurement of medical instruments in accordance with the advanced international practices in this area.

The remarks were made in a press statement today on observing the World Metrology Day, which corresponds with the twentieth of May each year. It is marked this year under the theme: "We Measure for Your Safety".

He added that the UAE Technical Regulations for measurement of medical instruments aims at reaching accurate measurement results regarding the medical instruments used by the health sector and laboratories, indicating that the regulations will be reviewed by competent authorities before their endorsement.
