UAE Ambassador to UN Praises EIDA message at conclusion of WSIS

WAM Abu Dhabi May 19th, 2012 (WAM)--Ambassador Obaid Salem Al Zaabi, Permanent Representative of the United Arab Emirates to the United Nations and other international organisations has praised at Geneva the efforts and message of Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) in beefing national and individual security, providing accurate and comprehensive population register, as well as innovative electronic services.
Al Zaabi congratulated EIDA for winning four awards of UAE Award For Excellence in Government Performance in its second edition.
The UAE envoy made the remarks at The World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS), held in Geneva from May 14-18. The UAE delegation took part in the event.
The EIDA delegation presented a shield to the ambassador Al Zaabi in appreciation for his work in helping the country to participate at (WSIS).
EIDA delegation presented a work paper on the role of digital ID in preserving accurate population register, and its efforts in developing an integral electronic infrastructure that connects EIDA with other institutions.
