The Ministry of Economy launches visual communication system

WAM Dubai, May 19, 2012 (WAM)--Sultan Al Mansoori, UAE Minister of Economy has launched the visual communication system that provides an ideal networking platform among the ministry's staff, in a move that reflects the interest of the ministry to invest in new technologies, in order to enhance performance, productivity and save time and effort.

The Ministry is the first to launch this system on the federal level.

During the launch of the program, Al Mansoori has visually contacted the offices of the ministry in the emirate of Abu Dhabi and other emirates where he stressed through the video calling to Ministry's leaders the importance of adopting new technologies, in order to enhance performance and improve the level of services provided by the Ministry to customers. He stressed the need to spread awareness among the staff to take advantage of modern technical systems provided by the Ministry especially the new visual communication system.

Al Mansoori said that the ministry is working according to a clear strategy for the transition to the stage of the knowledge economy in line with the UAE Vision 2021, stressing keenness of the Ministry on the development of electronic services in order to constantly improve the services provided to customers and to achieve this national goal. The minister pointed out that the Ministry of Economy has succeeded in automating about 90% of its services and is currently seeking to increase this percentage to reach 100 per cent at the end of 2012.

He noted that the main benefit of the program is to convene meetings of the ministry over the network and computers, and rationalization of expenditure of transportation of holding one to one meetings with the ability to display any file (Word or PowerPoint, etc.) through the new system with the possibility of sending or receiving files and connect to any internal telephone line to the ministry and invite people to the meeting via telephone or video WAM/MN
