Sheikh Abdullah meets Indian Finance Minister

New Delhi, 17 May 2012 (WAM) - UAE Foreign Minister H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan met here today with Indian Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee in presence of UAE Minister of State for Financial Affairs Obaid Humaid Al Tayer.

According to Press Trust of India (PTI), Sheikh Abdullah and Mukherjee discuss steps to improve bilateral trade and, as well as energy ties.

The UAE enjoys close and multifaceted relations with India and during the last three years, the two countries were each other's largest trading partners.

The meeting was attended by Khalid Al Ghaith, Assistant Foreign Minister for Economic Affairs, Faris Al Mazrouei, Assistant Foreign Minister for Security '&' Military Affairs, Ahmed Abdullah Al Masli, Director of Asian Affairs at the Foreign Ministry and Mohammed Sultan Abdullah Al Owais, UAE Ambassador to India. From the Indian side, it was attended by a number of senior officials and M.K. Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to the UAE.
