Municipality of Abu Dhabi City explores cooperation with Sharjah Municipality

WAM Abu Dhabi, May 16th, 2012 (WAM) -- The Municipality of Abu Dhabi City recently received a delegation from Sharjah Municipality as part of the joint efforts to prop up the existing cooperative links and exchanging expertise in various aspects of municipal work.
The delegation was keen on familiarizing itself with the plans, programs, projects and initiatives undertaken by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City in various fields of relevance to the municipal services as well as the appearance of the city under the ultimate objective of serving the community and the public.
Owaidah Ahmed Al Qubaisi, Acting Executive Director of Municipal Services Sector at the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City, welcomed the visiting delegation of Sharjah Municipality headed by Engineer Abdul Aziz Jasim Al Mansouri, Assistant Director General for Technical Affairs, along with the accompanying members including engineers Faisal Ali, Khalifa bin Haddah, and Abdul Razak Al Hammadi. Al Qubaisi hailed the importance of these visits in boosting the cooperation and sharing experiences between the relevant parties.
Al Qubaisi reiterated the commitment of the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City to strengthen the fraternal links with all Municipalities of the UAE, and utilizing them in having more exposure '&' benefits from the successful '&' excellent practices of the industry.
Al Qubaisi reviewed with the visiting delegation the stipulations set for using, leasing and occupying buildings '&' residential units as provided for in the Law No (1) for 2011 regulating the occupancy of residential units and the usufruct of properties allocated to Emiratis in Abu Dhabi Emirate; which had been enacted to keep pace with the huge upswing experienced by Abu Dhabi Emirate.
He also screened the laws regulating workers accommodation in Abu Dhabi Emirate along with the mechanism of implementing them, regulating the living of bachelor workers, and how to transport them from and to their place of residence.
"The UAE in general and Abu Dhabi Emirate in particular has the pride of being pioneer in figuring out strategic urbanized solutions to a number of issues '&' cases at the top of which comes addressing all matters related to the security '&' stability of the community.
"In keeping with these statutory '&' moral values, the Government of Abu Dhabi took the initiative of patronizing ICAD (Industrial City of Abu Dhabi) city project in Musaffah; which is not only considered the biggest urban housing project at the GCC level, but also across the Middle East, and has the characteristics in terms of specifications and sheer size to compete at the world stage.
"The attention paid by Abu Dhabi Government to this aspect clearly illustrates the approach adopted by Abu Dhabi to the mega development expansion envisioned for Abu Dhabi on the one hand, and the need to accommodate the rising numbers of workers in modern style cities fitted with all the requisites of decent living, hygiene standards, and service facilities built at the highest specifications, on the other.
Khaled Ali Hashemi, Head of Tenancy Contracts Documentation Section and City Appearance Project Manager, and Khalifa Mohammed Al Rumaithi, Director of Public Health gave presentation relating to their department work.
Sharjah Municipality delegation also made a tour to Customers Service Center and the Call Center.
For his part, Engineer Abdul Aziz Al Mansouri, Head of the Delegation, praised the achievements '&' advancements made by the Municipality of Abu Dhabi City in all areas of municipal work, stressing Sharjah Municipality's attention to promote the mutual cooperation, share experiences '&' knowledge and capitalize on the successful models of municipal work.
At the end of the tour, Al Qubaisi and Al Mansouri exchanged mementos, and reiterated their commitment to exchange expertise and boost the joint cooperation between the Municipality of Abu Dhabi and Sharjah Municipality.
