Abu Dhabi, May 13th, 2012 (WAM) -- HH Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, received today in Abu Dhabi in the presence of Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the political chief of Hamas Khaled Meshaal, who is currently visiting the country.

During the meeting, they reviewed the latest developments on the Palestinian arena and the efforts to achieve Palestinian national reconciliation.

They also discussed a number of issues of common concern.

Sheikh Mansour affirmed UAE's support to the Palestinian people to restore their legitimate national rights, particularly the establishment of an independent state in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.

He expressed hope that the efforts for the Palestinian national reconciliation will succeed.

Khaled Meshaal lauded the stances adopted by UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and hailed the good initiatives undertaken by the UAE to support the Palestinian people.
