WAM Abu Dhabi, May 8th, 2012 (WAM) -- The Abu Dhabi Airports Company (ADAC) and the Abu Dhabi International Airport (ADIA) websites have been selected as Official Honourees at the 16th Annual Webby Awards, ADAC announced today.

The Webby Awards are the leading international awards honouring excellence on the Internet, with nearly 10,000 entries received from all 50 US states and more than 60 countries around the world. "The Official Honourees" are awarded to the top 15% of all work entered; entries that exhibit excellence in content, structure and navigation, visual design, functionality, interactivity, and overall experience. ADAC and Abu Dhabi International Airport's websites were both named as "Official Honourees" for their outstanding accomplishments in the categories of Corporate Communications and Best Home Page respectively.

Commenting on the announcement, Hamed Al Hashemi, Head of ICS at ADAC, said "We know that for many travellers to and from Abu Dhabi the Abu Dhabi International Airport website is their first point of contact, hence we ensure ultimate convenience through our user-friendly, informative and distinctive website design. Receiving the Official Honouree recognition for two of our websites at the internationally recognised Webby Awards marks an excellent testimony to the quality of service that ADAC is committed to delivering as our airports continue to develop."
