Zayed Humanitarian Foundation establishes "Zayed's Endowment" to support projects in Africa
WAM Abu Dhabi, May 7th, 2012 (WAM) -- The Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan Charitable '&' Humanitarian Foundation announced the establishment of an endowment of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, worth two million dollars to support projects and programs of the Organization of the Islamic Call in Africa.
Salem Obaid Al Daheri, Director General of the Foundation in a statement to Emirates News Agency "WAM" said that Board of Trustees of the Foundation, chaired by H.H. Sheikh Nahyan bin Zayed Al Nahyan, has agreed to allocate two million dollars to support projects and programs of the Islamic Call Organization in Africa through the establishment of an endowment of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.
Al Daheri said that he signed today a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in this regard with Field Marshal Abdel Rahman Suwar al-Dahab Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Islamic Call Organization.
He pointed out that as per the MoU, Sheikh Zayed Foundation will provide a total grant of two million dollars to contribute to the establishment of Sheikh Zayed's endowment.
The MoU stipulates that both sides have agreed to strengthen cooperation in the fields of culture, education, health and development through the completion of some selected projects in the African continent aimed at helping the needy people.
