WAM Sharjah, Apr 28th, 2012 (WAM)--Sharjah Media Centre (SMC), the communications arm of the Government of Sharjah, today announced it will showcase the emirate's deep-rooted history, cultural heritage, economic advancement and its development as a leading tourist destination during its second consecutive participation at the Arabian Travel Market (ATM), the leading travel and tourism event in the region.
Scheduled to run from 30 April - 3 May at Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre, ATM 2012 will unite key market players from six continents and feature four days of intensive meetings, seminars, press conferences and social networking opportunities.
Sharjah Media Centre will additionally leverage its participation to connect with local, regional and global media as well as international institutions to position itself as the one-stop destination for all communications related to Sharjah.
Sheikh Sultan bin Ahmed Al Qasimi, Chairman of Sharjah Media Corporation, and Chairman of Sharjah Media Centre, said: "We are keen to participate in global forums such as the ATM that witness a large visitor and exhibitor turnout. Our participation at ATM reflects the centre's strategy to highlight the emirate's cultural heritage, touristic and economic advancement and conducive investment climate. Furthermore, such events offer us a unique platform to articulate clear information and ensure Sharjah's perspective is accurately communicated to the global community.

Sharjah Media Centre has actively participated in leading international events including Berlin's Annual Travel Trade Show, where it won the Best Exhibitor Award from among 11,000 exhibitors. During its participation at the world-renowned World Travel Market in London, the centre connected with premier media institutions in London and showcased Sharjah to a global audience through initiatives such as sponsoring the London Guide.
