Mansour bin Zayed honours 31 winners of fifth edition of the Khalifa Award for EducationApr 25, 2012 - 07:00 - WAM Abu Dhabi, Apr 25th, 2012 (WAM)-- H. H. Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Presidential Affairs and the Board of Trustees Chairman of the Khalifa Award for Education has honoured 31 winners of the award in its fifth edition 2011- 2012.
Held at Emirates Palace, the ceremony was attended by Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Deputy Chairman of the Khalifa Award for Education, Humaid Al Qattami, Minister of Education, Dr Mugheer Khamis Al Khaili, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Education Council, Dr Naif Falah Al Hajraf, Kuwaiti Minister of Education, diplomats, senior officials and Directors of the Educational Zones in the UAE.
Sheikh Mansour said the award aims to boosting the distinguished educational sessions in the UAE and Arab world and honouring of winners in various categories of the award, who attained excellence in all categories of the award, adding that the honouring appreciates their innovative educational efforts to enrich and develop the educational process.
He added that since its establishment the award exhibited its ability to deal with the elements of excellence in the field of education by encouraging them to sustain excellence for benefit of the educational field.
Sheikh Mansour underscored that the development of educational process "is a strategic objective pursued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan", who takes interest in the educational field.
He thanked the honoured and those behind the success of this grand educational event. Flanked by Sheikh Nahyan and Amal Al Afifi, the Secretary of the Award, Sheikh Mansour honoured 31 winners, of whom 25 were from the UAE and six from Arab countries.
At the conclusion of ceremony, the secretariat of the award presented a memento gift to Sheikh Mansour.
