2012-04-24 18:53:36
WAM Dubai, 24th April 2012 (WAM) -- Dubai Press Club, organisers of Arab Media Forum, today announced it will deploy innovative digital communications tools and platforms for the 11th Arab Media Forum that is set to take place from 8 - 9 May in Dubai.

Maryam bin Fahad, Executive Director of Dubai Press Club, said: "The initiative of furthering our digital strategy at the 11th Arab Media Forum follows the enormous interest and visibility the event has gained worldwide. Implementing this technology will allow us to connect not just those present at the event but also with the media, observers, decision-makers, researchers and thought leaders around the globe regardless of their geographic location.

"We are confident our aggressive foray into the digital platform will increase the level of interaction across the Arab region and the world to enrich both the discussions and dialogues on a broader level." An independent digital reporter will convey the key comments of panellists and moderators during the event through social networking channels. Nour Aldin Alyousuf from Dubai Media Incorporated (DMI) will serve as the digital reporter. He will be tasked with producing three minute capsules that summarise the outcomes of each session. Holding a vast experience in programmes that relate to technology and digital media, Al Yousuf is the host of Techno Media' on Sama Dubai TV, an entity of DMI.

As part of the initiative, followers of DPC's pages on Facebook and Twitter will be invited to post their thoughts on the forum discussions. Additionally, TV footage, photographs and live updates will be compiled and uploaded via Flickr'. The Media Centre at the event will feature a dedicated foyer to conduct interviews with participants to monitor and document their opinions. The responses will be aired on DPC's YouTube channel.

Bin Fahad added: "The outcomes of the fourth edition of the Arab Media Outlook, which was compiled by DPC, illustrates the substantial growth of communication tools and digital social networks in the Arab world. During the 10th edition of the AMF, the event's dedicated website www.arabmediaforum.ae received more than 26,000 visitors. We believe it is time to accelerate dialogue and exchange of ideas through the systemic deployment of modern platforms and digital tools." Themed "Arab Media: Exposure and Transition", Arab Media Forum 2012 is anticipated to draw the participation of over 2,000 regional and international journalists, as well as influential decision makers, opinion leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators.
