Japanese Government Scholarship Programs to accept applications by UAE nationalsApr 18, 2012 - 06:47 - WAM ABU DHABI: The Government of Japan announced that it will accept applications by UAE nationals for the Japanese Government (Monbukagakusho: MEXT) Scholarship Programs at Japanese colleges, universities and institutes for undergraduate, research and higher studies in 2013.
Enrolling UAE nationals in the Japanese Government's scholarship programs aims to promote cooperation between UAE and Japan in the field of education, according to a press release by the Embassy of Japan.
To qualify to apply for the Undergraduate Program, an applicant must be a UAE national, born between 2 April 1991 and 1 April 1996, has completed 12-year regular school education or equivalent, willing to learn Japanese language, healthy, able to arrive in Japan during the first week of April 2013, and must pass the exams and interviews on Saturday 19 May 2013, at 9:00 a.m. at the Embassy of Japan in Abu Dhabi. For Humanities and social sciences, exams will include Math, English, and Japanese language. For Natural Sciences, exams will include Math, English, Japanese, Physics, Chemistry and Biology, the Japanese Embassy explained.
"The Scholarship benefits include monthly allowance, traveling costs and school fees. Deadline to submit application forms is 13 May 2013," it said.
To qualify to apply for the Research Non-Degree Program, an applicant must be UAE national, has been born on or after 2 April 1978, has completed 16 years of education for the masters and 18 for the PhD, should apply to the same field of study of the bachelor, willing to learn Japanese language, healthy, able to arrive in Japan during the first week of April 2013, must pass the primary screening in the UAE, which includes, submitting an application form, pass the interview and the written exams of Japanese and English languages on 22 May 2012 at 9:00 a.m., at the Scholarship Department of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in Abu Dhabi.
