WAM Abu Dhabi, March 26th, 2012 (WAM) -- The Centre for Geographic Information System (GIS) at the Ministry of the Interior has obtained the membership of the International Alliance for Interoperability (IAI) and Open GIS.

Meanwhile, the ministry has been nominated to head the international group on police, security and public safety.

This came during meetings of the Strategic and Technical Planning Committee at University of Texas in Austin, U.S.
