LONDON: Political, military, cultural and economic cooperation between the UAE and the United Kingdom were discussed at a meeting here Tuesday by Ambassador of the UAE to the United Kingdom Abdul Rehman Al Mutaiwei and Gerald Howarth, the United Kingdom's minister for international security strategy at the Ministry of Defence.

The meeting also discussed the forthcoming UAE visit by the British Minister of Defence.

Howarth, in remarks at the meeting, described as "excellent" efforts by the UAE in the region as it has become a significant player.

He further reiterated the UK's preparedness to back the UAE's efforts.
