|  | EHRA welcomes US Embassy delegationSep 27, 2011 - 11:32 - WAM Abu Dhabi, 27th Sept. 2011 (WAM) -- Mohammed Hussein Al Hammadi, Secretary General of Emirates Human Rights Association (EHRA), received today a delegation from the US Embassy in Abu Dhabi comprising Nathan Carter, Director of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Regional Office, and Maya Najem, MEPI Program Management Specialist at U.S. Embassy. Al Hammadi informed his guests about the EHRA's programmes, activities and specialised committees as well as its message and mission and expressed readiness to cooperate with the US mission in any effort that serves both the US community and local society. The two sides explored avenues of prospective cooperation. For his turn, Nathan Carter, Director of the Middle East Partnership Initiative (MEPI) Regional Office, briefed his host on the achievements the MEPI has made so far. MEPI's mission is to create vibrant partnerships between America and the citizens of the Middle East and North Africa to empower them to build more pluralistic, participatory, and prosperous societies throughout the region. It also funds creative small enterprises. Al Hammadi said the EHRA stands ready to join forces with the US Embassy to render the MEPI a success. WAM/TF |
