|  | UAE Representative at ICAO hosts receptionNov 11, 2009 - 01:02 - WAM Ottawa, Nov. 11th, 2009 (WAM) -- Captain Aysha Al Hamili, UAE Representative at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), in Montreal city, hosted a reception to mark the start of her career at the world body.
The function was attended by President of the Organization and the Secretary-General and representatives of Member States of the Council of the Organization and a number of other officials. H.E Mohammed Abdullah Al Ghafli, UAE Ambassador to Canada was also present.
Al Hamili, in her speech expressed happiness to hold this position affirming the importance of cooperation and coordination to ensure the safety and security of international civil aviation.
The UAE Ambassador on the occasion said that he is glad that Captain Aysha is representing UAE at ICAO as the first UAE female at the council. He also noted that she is the first UAE female citizen that holds license in commercial aviation and the only female member of the ICAO at present. She is also considered to be the youngest country's representative in the history of the council.
