|  | Mariam Al Roumi receives Chief Executive of CSR Middle EastApr 26, 2009 - 06:16 - WAM Dubai, April 26th, 2009 (WAM)--UAE Social Affairs Minister HE Mariam Al Roumi, discussed with Martin Notaire, executive director of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Middle East and North Africa (MENA), ways of activating the Memo of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Social Responsibility Fund at the ministry with the CSR to boost the social responsibility concept. As per the MoU, the CSR will provide technical consultative services to develop the fund and ensure its sustainability in the UAE. It also calls for setting up a branch of Boston College Centre for Corporate Citizenship in the UAE. Five per cent of the centre's annual revenues will be allocated to the social responsibility fund at the ministry. Al Roumi described the deal as a qualitative shift in partnership between the ministry and private sector. Meanwhile, Notaire said the CSR will exert utmost efforts to educate about the corporate social responsibility awareness. WAM/MN |
