Sharjah Municipality to complete execution of AED1.5 billion projectsFeb 5, 2009 - 01:58 - WAM Sharjah, Feb. 5, 2009 (WAM) -- Sharjah Municipality (SM) remains committed to completing all ongoing development and infrastructure projects, which it is executing at a total cost of more than AED1.5 billion, it was disclosed by SM Director General, Salah Tahir Al-Hajj.
Speaking at a press conference he held during a special annual recreation camp for the SM staff, Al-Hajj said the projects, which are being executed in line with the directives and commitment of Supreme Council member and Ruler of Sharjah, H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al-Qasimi, to provide all services to residents of the Sharjah emirate, will be completed ahead of schedule despite the global financial crisis which is beginning to hit hard on all countries of the world.
He reiterated that his outfit is highly determined to complete all projects it started in the past years in various areas of services and infrastructure, which saw Sharjah engage in an unprecedented expansion projects in the areas of building and construction.
He said the SM is currently building a new premises at a total cost of AED150 million, adding that the building will be completed at the end of the year.
