|  | Dubai to host Offshore Arabia on SundayJan 9, 2009 - 06:37 - WAM Dubai, 9th Jan. 2009 (WAM) -- At next Sunday's Offshore Arabia Conference and Exhibition, papers and roundtable discussions will highlight issues related to exploring for additional resources, NOC's and IOCs cooperation, balancing the regional energy supply and demand equations and the Region's energy demand for electricity and water supplies. To be held under the patronage of H.H Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, Offshore Arabia Conference and Exhibition will run at the Dubai Convention and Exhibition Center from 11 to 13 January 2009. The Conference will be presided over by HE Dr. Rashid Ahmed Bin Fahad, UAE Minister of Environment and Water and Prince Turki Bin Nasser Bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud President of Presidency of Meteorology and Environment, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and representatives from the international oil sector, OPEC, AOPEC, the United Nations Specialized Organizations, Government departments and NGOs. H.E.Khamis Jumma Bu Amim President of the Regional Clean Sea Organization (RECSO) and the President of Offshore Arabia, said :'The Conference Program includes 65 specialized papers that focus on the issues of energy, environment changes, sustainable development and the role of media in the Arabian Gulf Region, the Gulf of Oman and in the rest of the world.' Regarding the Climate Change, the session will address the issues of managing Climate Change, the Story, and the Cure, Clean development mechanism CDM, the Kyoto Protocol, Carbon Emissions, and Trading in the Middle East. 'The session of Managing Resources and The Environment will focus on the subjects of Attracting and Retaining Future Energy Professionals (The Human Factor) , Balancing Consumption and Conservation , Development with the Environment in Mind and Improving Energy Efficiency,' Bu Amim added. Health, Safety, Security and Rescue are also been highlighted in the topics, Managing Health, Safety and Security of Oil and Gas Industry, Incident and Crisis Management , HSE Standards and Policies and Risk Management. Sustainability session will address the subjects of balancing the Fulfillment of Human Needs with the Protection of the Natural Environment, Integrated Water Resources Management, Climate Change and Tourism and Climate Change and the Media. Global Environment and the Role of Governments session will also address the UN Environmental Policies, Regional Government Strategies Development and Managing Growth and Going Green a Need and a Strategy. One of the prominent features of the conference program, it has given Offshore and Onshore environment protections considerable attention particularly in the issues of Oil Spill Management, Hazardous Material Management, Marine Environment, and Urban Development.
